What the packets contain & a sample

What you walk out with

Three packets. One for each door you have to walk through.

Choose the packet that fits the person who needs to read your record.

For the police

Emergency packet

The short sheet you show an officer at the door: who is here, who to call, any protection order, and your most recent incidents with their evidence and file fingerprints. The earlier incidents, the pattern in your own record and your state’s law come after it, as background for later.

For your lawyer

Lawyer prep packet

Who, when and where first, then your exhibits numbered in date order, each with its date, where it came from and its fingerprint, the chronology, and where the record is thin. Your own notes, the pattern and your state’s law come after the evidence, labelled as notes, not findings — the law marked as checked where a person has checked it; elsewhere the wording as we found it, where we got it, and “Not verified yet”.

For the courtroom

My Damn Self packet

Everything in Lawyer prep, plus the hearing book, answering the allegations, person mapping, and your court’s rules and procedures.

How it works, privacy & sources

No AI writes your packet

Why no AI writes your packet

AI tools make stuff up. Not on purpose. Researchers found the big AI assistants lean toward agreeing with you over being right. They tell you what you want to hear, and you can talk one into almost anything.

A federal judge fined two lawyers and their firm $5,000 for citing court cases a chatbot invented. The cases never existed. If you use one, you’re still going back and checking every law and every line yourself.

Have you ever cried to AI? It answers you kindly. The law doesn’t work like that. A judge rules on the evidence and the law. Black and white. It’s either there or it’s not.

  • No AI writes your packet. It’s built from fixed tables: what each item is, its date, and the rule it falls under. Nothing gets made up to fill a gap.
  • You can’t talk it into anything. There’s no chat box. The scan looks for words from a published list and shows you the exact words it found. Same evidence, same result. You can take any of it off.
  • The law is quoted word for word, with where it came from. If nobody has checked it against the state’s own code yet, it says “Not verified yet” right on it.

Straight up: two things do use a trained model. Reading the words off a screenshot, and turning a recording into words. Both run on your own device, and your files aren’t sent anywhere to be read. Both can get a word wrong, and everything read that way says so. The original always wins.

One timeline

Every date. Every person. Every message.

Texts, screenshots, emails and recordings land in one place, lined up in the order they happened.

Beyond one bad day

What coercive control looks like

Coercive control is a pattern over time. It can include threats, intimidation, isolation, control of money, constant monitoring, involving the children, and repeated messages that wear you down. It is not one argument or one bad day.

The pattern hides in plain sight and grows through phases. Naming it is the first step to breaking it.

This is education, not legal advice. Your situation is real and your safety comes first.

Field guide

Know what the tool does—and doesn’t—say.

Our Field Guide explains the evidence-first approach, so you can use the tool with confidence and clarity.

What it reads

Screenshots, messages, photos, recordings, and documents. What we read—and what we skip.

How it dates items

How dates are captured, verified, and shown in order you can trust.

What it will and won’t say

Neutral language. No opinions. We organize the record—you tell your story.

The other product

There is a second one, and it is separate on purpose.

This holds what you lived. Due Process Audit holds what a court wrote down. They are different classes of proof, so your evidence is never copied from one into the other. What connects them is you: My Damn Mirror can open a My Damn Self case file that you save and bring to it yourself, and a My Damn Self packet bought before 3 October 2026 came with a code that opens one Due Process Audit case.

A domestic violence matter is a family court matter, so for one person both products point at the same case. That is exactly where the line gets rubbed out by accident — which is why it is written on the front page instead of buried in a document nobody opens.

Nothing moves on its own. A code or a case file only goes where you take it, so you can always say exactly where each piece came from.

Stays here — what you lived

Text messages and chat logs · Photographs and screenshots · Audio and video recordings · Emails between the parties · Your own account of what happened · Medical and shelter records you hold yourself

Goes to Due Process Audit — what a court wrote down

Docket entries · Orders and minute entries · Transcripts · Filings and petitions · Notices and returns of service · Clerk's certificates

The three tools

The three tools

Three tools, and one job between them.

Three tools, and one job between them: what happened, put where another person can check it.

My Damn Self

Your evidence in order.

Your evidence, as it is.

My Damn Self puts your evidence in order. Screenshots, texts, photos, recordings, documents — as they are.

One timeline. Dated, and numbered.

It lays them on one timeline, in the order it happened — each one dated, and numbered.

It suggests. You decide.

The scan suggests what a piece of evidence shows. You take off whatever does not fit — it is your case, not its finding.

A packet you can walk in with.

And it hands you a packet you can walk in with.

Due Process Audit

Your case against the rules.

Your case, against the rules.

Due Process Audit checks what happened in your case against the rules.

Photograph it, or drop the file in.

Photograph a court paper, or drop the file in. It is read on your device.

The rules, in plain words, beside your record.

Then it sets your state's published rules beside your record, and says in plain words what each rule required — and whether the record shows it was done.

Scan the code. The state's own words.

And every rule carries a code you can scan — straight to the state's own page, in the state's own words.

My Damn Mirror

Yourself, in your own words.

How you talk. How you show up.

My Damn Mirror reads your own messages back to you — how you talk, and how you show up.

Fifteen mirrors. Each one a question.

Fifteen mirrors, and each one is a question. What do I actually do. What gets underneath my skin. What do I do to protect myself. Who am I with other people.

Every count shows its lines.

Every count shows the number it came out of, with your own words printed underneath.

It asks. It never decides.

Where a pattern has a name, it names it — as a question, never a finding — and shows you where the idea came from.

Not evidence. A better understanding of yourself.

You mark what is you and what is not. It is not evidence, and it is not a verdict — it is a better understanding of yourself.
