My Damn Self, operated by Roots N Remedies, LLC. Last updated 11 September 2026.
The organizer is free: timeline, Duluth-wheel tags and behaviour flagging, and the exhibit index. One payment of $29.99 buys the Lawyer prep packet, licensed to one case; it is not a copy of the software, and it does not expire, so you can re-export that case as many times as it needs. One payment of $49.99 is the My Damn Self packet and includes the Lawyer prep packet so you do not pay it twice: it also does not expire, so you keep this running on this computer for one case. Neither is a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel. If what you bought did not work, email us and we will refund it.
Your evidence is read on your own device and is never uploaded. Which also means we cannot get anything back for you.
If it didn’t work, you get your money back. If the export failed, produced nothing, or produced a file you could not open, email info@mydamnself.com with the date of the payment and we will refund it. No form, no explanation required. We would rather return $29.99 or $49.99 than have taken it for nothing.
If you changed your mind, we don’t refund it. The package is a file that was built and downloaded to your device. We cannot take it back, and we have no copy of it to check — nothing you make with this tool ever reaches us.
Before you pay, you can see almost everything it does. Bringing your files in, putting them in order, building your timeline, searching it, reading your state’s law and seeing what is missing are all free. The $29.99 payment is for the Lawyer prep packet. The $49.99 payment is the My Damn Self packet.
Neither packet expires. Both the $29.99 Lawyer prep packet and the $49.99 My Damn Self packet are licensed to one case, so noticing a wrong date or a misspelled name after you paid never costs you again — you export that one case as many times as it needs.
There is nothing to cancel.
This is not a subscription. You pay once, for what you bought, and nothing bills you again — not next month, not next year.
There is nothing that bills you again. If you stop using it, you have already cancelled. If you want your account gone too, delete it yourself in the app (Case settings → Your account → Delete my account) or email us.
Your data does not need cancelling either. Nothing about your case is on our servers to delete, because it was never sent to us; the only thing there is your account, and you can delete that yourself. Closing the tab ends the session; the encrypted case file and the exported PDF are yours and stay wherever you put them.
My Damn Self is operated by Roots N Remedies, LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company. In these terms, “we” means that company and “you” means the person using the tool.
My Damn Self organizes evidence. It does not practise law.
It does not decide whether abuse occurred. It does not rate danger or risk. It does not tell you what to file, where to file it, or what any of it means. Where it shows you the law, it prints the words of the statute and the day that source was read, so that you can check it yourself.
Using this tool does not make us your lawyer, and nothing here creates an attorney–client relationship. Nothing you type into it is privileged. If you need advice about your situation, that comes from a lawyer or an advocate, not from software.
You decide what to present. A court decides what it means.
The organizer is free: bringing your files in, dates, the timeline, Duluth-wheel tagging, the exhibit index, search, and reading your state’s law.
One payment of $29.99 buys the Lawyer prep packet — your exhibits numbered, the chronology, the cover sheet, the pattern for the other party, where the record is thin, and the law, in a single PDF. It is not a copy of the software. It is licensed to one case and does not expire, so you export that case as many times as it needs.
One payment of $49.99 is the My Damn Self packet. It includes the Lawyer prep packet so you do not pay it twice, plus the hearing book, answering the allegations, person mapping, your court’s rules and procedures, one Due Process Audit case (a separate code, used once, for one case), and anything legal or psychological. It also does not expire: you keep this running on this computer for one case and export that packet as many times as the case needs. Keep an encrypted copy of the case from Settings. There is not a separate installer to download yet; this is the same app in the browser on this computer.
Features that are not built yet say so and cannot be bought.
Your files are read on your own device and are never uploaded. There is a server: it serves the page, keeps your account (your email and what you have paid for), asks Stripe whether a payment cleared if you pay, and passes on a message if you choose to send feedback. It has never received a file, an exhibit, a date, a tag or a note.
Nothing about your case is ever on our servers — not a file, not an exhibit, not a date, not a tag, and not the fact that you have a case at all. Your case is an encrypted file you keep: you bring it in, you work, you take it out again. You sign in with an email and a password so you can come back; a forgotten account password can be reset by email. The case file itself is sealed on your device, and its recovery code is the door back into it — we never hold that.
Which means we cannot get anything back for you. Not your case file, not your passphrase, not your export. There is no copy here and no reset — which is the same reason nobody can take it from us. Keep more than one copy, and write your passphrase somewhere only you can reach.
We do not promise any outcome. Not that a court will accept your package, not that it will help, not that anything will be believed. The tool organizes a record. It cannot make anyone act on it.
We provide the tool as it is. We do not guarantee it is free of errors, and where something is uncertain the product is built to say so rather than to sound confident.
To the extent the law allows: you use this tool as it is, and Roots N Remedies is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using it — including any outcome in any legal proceeding. Where we are liable for something, that liability is limited to what you paid us, which is $29.99 or $49.99 and for many people is nothing at all.
What that does not cover, and we are not trying to: we do not disclaim responsibility for our own fraud, and nothing here takes away a right you have under the law where you live that cannot be signed away.
We would rather say that plainly than bury it. A tool for people who have been told for years that the small print was their fault should not have small print.
Shelters, advocates and victim assistance offices can hand out access directly, free. That exists because the people who most need this are often the ones whose spending is watched. Ask, and you get one.
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. We will not change them retroactively for a package you have already bought.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, where Roots N Remedies, LLC is registered.
This does not affect the law that applies to your own case, which is the law of wherever you are. It only covers a dispute between you and this company about this tool.
